1. Ring Main Unit is composed of four part: switching chamber ,fuse chamber ,operating mechanism chamber and cable chamber (bottom support).(see picture 1).

2. Switching chamber is composed of each function circuit sealed in the metal enclosure( including load switch and earthing switch) and busbar between circuit. etc. Enclosure is welded by 3mm thick cold rolling steel (or stainless steel plate).Each earthing function circuit is composed of one set load switch and one set earthing switch. Load switch is composed of moving contact system on vertical motion and static contact in the lower part. Moving contact operates downward and load switch is on when the load switch is closing. Earthing switch is composed of moving contact blade and static contact blade. Earthing switch is fast on with spring compressed at middle position. Four rectangular assembly technology holes are drilled on the upper part and rear part of switching chamber observation window is equipped on the front of ring main unit, can observe “opening”,“ closing” position of earthing switch. Explosion protection is equipped on the rear part of ring main unit.

3. Load switch is adopted gas evolving structure, processed high arc-extinguishing ability and it is not influenced phase to phase and phase to earth insulation. All of the moving and static contacts have the arc contact, it is greatly raise breaking times.

4. Fuse and load switch constitute transformer protective circuit. High voltage current limiting fuse is equipped in epoxy pouring insulating enclosure. After fuse burning out, the firing spin eject and load switch open.

5. Operating mechanism chamber locate at the front of ring main unit. Load switch is fit with manual (electric movement) energy storage spring operating mechanism and earthing switch is fit with dependent energy storage spring operating mechanism in every functional circuit. There are operation hole for load switch closing and manually opening rotary button,closing and opening operation hole for earthing switch,opening and closing position indicating light for load switch ,electric CO button equipped on the plate. Simulative line and switch status indicating plate with lock position are fixed on the plate. Inter locking device is included in the operation of load switch and earthing switch to present from fault operating.
